  • Brilliant undefeated 2YO who broke his maiden by 10 3/4 lengths at Keeneland and went on to capture the $120,000 Three Chimneys Juvenile Stakes (Formerly the WHAS-TV Stakes) at Churchill Downs by 4 1/4 lengths establishing a NEW STAKES RECORD.
  • Sold for $6,100,000 at the 2006 Keeneland November Breeding Stock Sale, the highest price ever for a horse in training sold at Keeneland.
  • Graded Stakes winner by Sire of Sires Unbridled’s Song who sold as a 2YO for a record price of $1,400,000.
  • Full-brother to a $1,700,000 weanling, the most expensive weanling sold at public auction in 2005, to a $2,600,000 Keeneland September yearling, the third highest-priced yearling of 2007, and to a $1,150,000 2008 Keeneland September yearling. Their dam sold for $3,600,000, as the third highest-priced broodmare at the 2005 Keeneland November Sale.
  • First in foal mares have sold for up to $510,000.

NEWS:

8/7/01 - A Half Ours colt topped the sale on day one of the NY Bred Preferred Sale at Fasig Tipton, Saratoga. He was purchased by “Buzz” Chace, agent for West Point Thoroughbreds for $100,000. The colt is out of Dixie Lyrics, by Dixie Union.

Half Ours was also the leading sire on day one
(by average, two or more sold) with 2 sold for an average of $74,000.

8/2/10 - Half Ours filly brings $150,000 at Spa Opener.  Hip #30 was purchased yesterday evening at the Fasig Tipton Saratoga Select Sale by Murray Smith, the highly successful pinhooker and  a high end talent scout, has developed the likes of stars Monarchos, Smoke Glacken, Wild Fit, and others. 

Half Ours to Clear Creek Stud in Louisiana


Grade 2 winner Half Ours has moved to Val Murrell’s Clear Creek Stud in Louisiana after standing his initial season at the Taylor family’s Taylor Made Farm in Nicholasville, Kentucky.

The six-year-old Unbridled’s Song horse will stand for $5,000 in 2010 after standing for $12,500 during his initial season. Out of the Storm Cat mare Zing, Half Ours won five of seven races and earned $319,680. He won the 2005 Three Chimneys Juvenile Stakes at Churchill Downs and the ’07 Richter Scale Sprint Championship Handicap (G2) at Gulfstream Park at age four.

Half Ours sold as a horse in training for $6.1-million during the 2006 Keeneland November breeding stock sale.
