8/16/08 - Favored IDE LIKE A DOUBLE rallied gamely to win the $200,000 Evangeline Mile by one length in an Evangeline Downs track-record time  Aug. 16.

Ridden by Kerwin Clark, the 3-year-old Lousiana-bred colt by IDE - Make Mine a Double, by Carr de Naskra, ran the distance in 1:36.28 to record his sixth lifetime win in 12 starts for owner Valene Farms and trainer Bryon Gilbert. Clark has ridden Ide Like a Double in all of his races.

6/15/08 - IDE LIKE A DOUBLE bounces back in the Acclaim Stakes at Evangeline Downs

This is Ide’s fourth stakes winner for 2008 and Ide is currently Louisiana’s leading sire.

Back in with Louisiana bred three-year-olds after a tough trip in the Grade III Lone Star Derby last month, Ide Like a Double bounced back with a clear cut victory over Star Production in the $60,000 Acclaim Stakes at Evangeline Downs Racetrack and Casino on Saturday evening. Rated off a quick, contested early pace, the Ide colt circled rivals on the turn into contention before wresting command in mid-stretch and pulling clear under confident handling from regular reins man Kerwin Clark.

The official margin of victory was 4 1/4 lengths and the final running time for the seven furlongs was 1:23 1/5 on a track labeled fast.

Trained by veteran conditioner B.J. Gilbert and owned by the Valene Farms of Louisiana, Ide Like a Double recorded his second stakes victory and fourth overall win in nine career starts. Bred by the Robkat Racing LLC, he has now earned more than $130,000 lifetime with his $36,000 winner’s share

A bay filly by Ide named TENSAS YUCATAN sold for $270,000 to James Spence in the final moments Tuesday to top the Fasig-Tipton Texas Two-Year-Old in Training Sale at Lone Star Park. Consigned by Twin Oaks Training Center, agent, as Hip No. 308, the Louisiana-bred is the second foal out of Xylophone (Dehere), who is a half-sister to stakes victress Joyous Song.

The filly drilled an eighth-mile in a bullet :10 at the at the under tack show on April 2.

4/2/06 - A filly by Ide and a colt Officer by each breezed a furlong in :10 flat on Sunday during the Fasig-Tipton Texas two-year-olds in training sale under tack show at Lone Star Park. The Ide filly, named Tensas Yucatan and consigned by Twin Oaks Training Center, agent, is the second foal out of the placed Dehere mare Xylophone.

He won by 3/4 lengths from a USA horse Group 1 winner called SHARP IMPACT owned by Derek Smith, SHARP IMPACT was brought here 2 years ago for the 2004 Gold Cup but came 7th out of 11 and did not race since. I must say he gave FEET a good run.

FEET is now the only horse in Barbados to have won so many races - 19 including this Saturday and 20 if the dispute over the 2004 gold cup stays in his favor."

5/20/05 - Three juveniles tie for fastest furlong at Fasig-Tipton Midlantic breeze show

A colt and two fillies tied for the fastest one furlong work of :10.20 on Wednesday in Timonium, Maryland, at the first of two breeze-up shows for the Fasig-Tipton Midlantic two-year-olds in training sale.

Steephollow Farms, agent, consigned the IDE filly that tied for the quickest one-eighth mile time, The filly is out of the multiple graded stakes-winning Relaunch mare Gray Cashmere.

Watch for her at the Fasig-Tipton Midlantic two-year-olds in training sale will be held on May 23-24, with sessions beginning at 11 a.m. each day.

2/14/05 - IDE PICKS UP 2 MAJOR AWARDS in BARBADOS

Ide's son, FEET ON FLAMES h. 6, Ide—As We Sing, by Seattle Song, stole the spotlight by “running away” with two top awards when the Barbados Turf Club’s Garrison Turf Awards for 2004 took place at Sandy Lane Country Club.

The Clayton Greenidge-trained, Luther Miller III owned six-year-old won the Champion Imported Horse, and the crème de la crème Horse Of The Year titles from a number of other outstanding contenders.

Feet On Flames had also won the Champion Imported Horse Of The Year title in 2003, and he retained it again this year by beating off stablemates Peace Angel and Storm Hunter.

Feet On Flames’ 2004 outstanding record included four wins showing great versatility while winning at three different distances.

1/31/05 - IDE BE A LADY, f. 4, Ide - True Chompion, by True Colors romped to an easy win in an allowance race on the turf at the FAIR GROUNDS for owners S B B A Stable, G. Springer, T. Bailey, E. Bates, and B. Allen and breeder Longfield Farm (Ky.).
Ide Be a Lady broke quickly and after a quarter-mile opened a five-length lead before relaxing a bit in the middle and then coasted home unthreatened to win by 3 3/4lengths in 1:46.61 in her first win in a two-turn race.Ide Be a Lady was making her seasonal debut as a four-year-old and scored her first win since August. She has three wins from 13 starts for earnings of $88,865. The daughter of Ide is a half sister to graded stakes-placedwinners Mollie Creek and Naskra Colors, the latter being thedam of multiple Grade 3 winner Sir Shackleton.

FRONT-RUNNING VICTORY: The Fair Grounds' turf course has a reputation for being unkind to front-runners, but Ide Be a Lady led all the way in winning the allowance feature Monday. She finished strongly, running the final sixteenth of a mile in 6.42 seconds.

Ide Be a Lady was racing for the second time since November.

Only an average sire of A and B Runners (and don't ask about his two-year-olds--0.26 from his Kentucky crops), but 2.51 for C Runners (that was $51,000 last year, thank you), and 2.12 for three-year-old ABC's (mostly C's, in his case). Val Murrell and Clear Creek's first good buy out of Kentucky, and a great sire for Louisiana at $2,500--even though they've been much better older so far.
