7/11 - PLACID STAR, f. 3, Placid Fund—Lao’s Star, by Risen Star won a handicap on the turf at LOUISIANA DOWNS. This is her seventh win in 8 starts. The only time she did not win, she was second. 6/26 - Two year old first time starter J. D.’S BLUE BAYOU, c. 2, Placid Fund - B. J.’s Delta Pro, by Nile Delta romped at Evangeline Downs for owner/breeder Valene Farms.

6/5 - PLACID STAR is back to her winning ways taking the Frank A Buddy Abadie at Evangeline Downs. Her earnings are approaching $250,000.

5/23 - PLACID STAR lost for the first time in her young life in the Fantasia S at Louisiana Downs but only by a neck. She has raised her earnings to $217,000.

3/27- PLACID STAR remains UNDEFEATED ( 5 for 5).

Heavy favorite Placid Star kept her perfect record intact, streaking home to win the $100,000 Sarah Lane's Oates Handicap for 3-year-old Louisiana-bred fillies in impressive fashion Saturday at Fair Grounds.

Placid Star, sent off at 13-10, is now 5-for-5 since debuting at Fair Grounds in December. The streak includes stakes victories in the Louisiana Premier Starlet at Delta Downs and the Battler Star Handicap at Fair Grounds in her previous two starts.

Placid Star improved her earnings to $207,000 for trainer Sam David Jr., who owns the filly in partnership with James McCurry.

3/7 - PLACID STAR still UNDEFEATED and now 4 for 4 - romps in the Battler Star at the Fair Grounds for owners James McCurry and Sam David Jr. Earnings now closing in on $150,000.

2/7 - PLACID FUND got his first SW at LOUISIANA PREMIER NIGHT as UNDEFEATED PLACID STAR lived up to her name and won the $125,000 STARLET S. easily at Delta Downs. PLACID STAR f. 3, Placid Fund—Lao’s Star, by Risen Star is owned by James McCurry and Sam David Jr. bred by Stargazers LLC (La.) and trained by Sam B. David Jr. Her record stands at Lifetime: 3-3-0-0, $102,000.

Placid Star debuted for a $15,000 tag Dec. 13 at Fair Grounds and stormed home to a 12-length maiden win. She added a Jan. 18 Fair Ground allowance victory in her last start. Held up in the early stages, Placid Star rallied along the rail turning for home, split foes at the top of the stretch and finished strongly for a commanding win.
